PERSONAL TRAINER: Dextria Sapp is a 30 year old graduate from The University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a Bachelor of Exercise Science degree. She is currently studying to pursue her MBA in the spring of 2013. Dextria was also a member of the University’s Ragin’ Jazz Dance team. The north Louisiana native resides in Lafayette, Louisiana, where she works as a Cooper certified personal trainer and fitness spokesman. This 2-time NPC Bodybuilding (Figure) Champion is no stranger to the world of television, as Dextria has appeared on an episode NBC’s Best Friends Fear Factor, competed as a contestant winning over 30 pageant and fitness titles, including Miss Black Louisiana, Miss Fitness Louisiana, and Miss Black United States. 16 years of dance experience landed her an appearance on VH1 and CMT as a featured dancer for a local country recording artist. Additionally, she has been an aerobics instructor, traveling fitness/advertising model and pageant coach for over 9 years.
Dextria has launched and branded a successful new workout series called “DEXercise” which involves cardiovascular and strength training camps for women, along with education on nutrition, physical, emotional and spiritual wellness. Her hobbies include horseback riding/competitive equestrian jumping, golf, traveling the world and spending time with her family, horses and her dog. In her spare time she volunteers for favorite charity-Hearts of Hope, a local non-profit organization for sexually abused women and children. Dextria’s Native American roots, her passion for horses and helping people has inspired her to one day open an Equine Therapy Center for women and children of domestic violence and abuse.
